​     Jamie Risbourg is visual artist with deep Louisiana roots who was born and raised just outside of New Orleans. She credits the city as a significant source of ongoing inspiration, and has spent her adult life diving into its culture, music, and history. As a traditional artist, Jamie worked in a variety of mediums including watercolor, oil, and acrylics. Her artistic focus began with custom portrait painting and grew to also include pet portraits, architectural paintings, murals, and hand-painted signs. Following the pandemic, Jamie used live painting to document a unique era of the local music scene. Painting primarily at concerts held on residential front porches across the city, her live paintings became valued for their authentic representation of these musical experiences. It was vital to her that the paintings not only looked like but felt like the events in which they were portraying. Soon after she began live painting wedding receptions, a service she hopes to offer for many years to come. In 2021 she began her company Scene & Studio LLC. The name is a nod to both the artwork that Jamie creates on location via live painting and plein air painting as well as to the custom work made in her studio. Within recent years Jamie has expanded her skillset studying digital and graphic design. This growth has resulted in a new professional direction, allowing her to begin a line of products featuring her custom designs. Designs which not only connect to her heritage but with all who share in her love of the New Orleans spirit.
