The Constantinople Stage, Uptown New Orleans, featuring JP Carmody on 1/4/2025
What happens to a live painting when it rains during the set?
It's finished in the artist's studio, of course.
How It Started
Since the Covid pandemic, porch concerts have become a cherished part of the New Orleans music scene. Among these, the Constantinople Stage is a fan favorite. On Saturday 1/4/25 the forecast didn't call for rain until an hour before the show. Live painting can be tricky that way, always vulnerable to the unexpected. And while the drizzling rain didn't stop the music, it did disrupt the painting process. Consequently, the painting which started on the scene had to be completed in the studio.
